About the Regional Base Hospital

The Sunnybrook Centre for Prehospital Medicine currently delegates to approximately 2,000 paramedics serving Beausoleil, Halton, Muskoka, Peel, Rama, Simcoe and Toronto Regions. The delegation of controlled medical acts is through Dr. Sheldon Cheskes, Medical Director for Peel and Halton Region paramedics; Dr. Michael Feldman, Medical Director for Beausoleil, Muskoka, Rama and Simcoe Regions and Dr. Rick Verbeek, Medical Director for Toronto paramedics.  It is through the leadership of our paramedics and Medical Directors that we are leading the way for the best possible prehospital care in the world.

Our paramedics are able to gain a wide variety of experience in the field through our partnership with the University of Toronto and through participation in prehospital research.

Our goal is to promote communication between Sunnybrook and the needs of the paramedics. We look forward to working with all of you through understanding and translating those needs into action, improving the day-to-day practice. We are proud of the amazing work our paramedics do every day on the streets and applaud their efforts and dedication to this profession and their communities as we strive for the betterment of all facets involved.
